screens & why they matter
Screens are an incredibly complex part of screenprinting. The wrong screen mesh could largely contribute to your shirts not coming out as planned. The ink could be too thin, too thick, the detail washed out, or any other number of variables. That's why choosing a knowledgable company for your project is highly important.
The mesh of the screen is the gatekeeper for ink coverage, and knowing how to speak screen mesh is incredibly valuable.
110 - HIGH COVERAGE, LOW DETAIL
If big and bold are words you use when explaining your print, a 110 screen is probably the way to go for you.
156 - STANDARD DETAIL & COVERAGE
One of the most versatile screen meshes, it's the go-to screen for most standard jobs that don't require a large amount of coverage or detail. It can achieve a good amount of both detail and coverage.
230 - HIGH DETAIL, LOW COVERAGE
If your artwork has small type, thin lines, highly detailed distress, this is likely the best option for your print. When printing new shirts for Big Rig Tees, we rarely use anything other than 230's and 305's to achieve the detail needed for their high def artwork.
